Why fail-safe nylon clips, and why do we not drill panels?
The mesh is held by fail-safe nylon clips that grip the panel frame edge, with nylon C-clips for newer frame profiles. Nothing is screwed into the frame, the tiles or the roof sheet. Drilling a panel frame or roof creates a leak path and can void the manufacturer's warranty, which is the one thing proofing must never do.
The clips are called fail-safe because they are designed to hold the mesh under wind load without transferring stress to the panel, and to give before the frame ever would. They sit on the frame lip at close spacing along the whole edge, so the mesh cannot lift at a corner, and the fit is checked from below the array before the job is signed off.

Not when it is clip-fixed. Panel manufacturers void warranties for modifications to the frame, and installers void their workmanship warranty for penetrations of the roof.
